I have yet another new stock music track waiting to be unleashed on the world. This one is moody. Read on for details on how I put it together.

I have a new piece of stock music in the pipeline at Pond5. This one is “Breaking News Alert.”
My wife Danita and I agreed to drive over to Wyoming last Sunday to pick up our granddaughter and bring her back to her dad in Utah. We went over a little early for some sightseeing.
My new ambient and atmospheric stock music track “Mirage (Slow, Meditative Ambience)” is now available for your media projects.

I have a new track in the stock music pipeline. “Mirage” is a slow and meditative ambient track featuring melodica, electric piano, synth textures and percussion.

I have a new track in curation at Pond5. The new track, a simple plaintive wash of string and vocal samples with tubular bells, was inspired by the war in Ukraine. Updated March 21!

My latest stock music item “Happy Spring Frolic” has been approved and is now available to license at Pond5 for all your spring media projects. The track features melodica over a simple rhythm section with a ukulele and congas.
You can license this upbeat track in its full (1:30) version, as well as a sixty second edit for radio and television, with thirty second and fifteen second edits for social media posts.
To find out more about this track, check out my “in the pipeline” post from last week.

I’ve got a new stock music item in the pipeline at Pond5. This time around, I decided to try something a little different.
For Christmas 2020, I got a baritone ukulele that I’ve been messing around with all year. Then last Christmas (2021), my son gave me a Cahaya melodica. For those who aren’t familiar, a melodica is like a harmonica, except you press a key while blowing to get the pitch you want. This year, I decided to try working with my new “toys.”

I decided I wanted to put together something for the coming of spring, so instead of my usual programming and quantizing I played the melodica and uke on the new track. I also played a conga patch on my old Roland HPD-15 electronic percussion instrument.
I started with a simple chord progression in G on the uke, worked out a melody on the melodica, and added other instruments. I call the result “Happy Spring Frolic.” Here’s the thirty second edit to give you a taste:
The full version clocks in at 1:30, and I’ve created sixty-, thirty- and fifteen-second edits as well. I also added a guitar patch; the uke being a little out of tune with the acoustic guitar gives the feeling of a spring carnival. This family-friendly piece will make a perfect soundtrack for a (hoped for) spring emergence from the long pandemic. Please check back for updates as to the final disposition of this track.

I’ve got new stock music items in curation at Pond5. In response to a recent brief advising that buyers are looking for music that sounds like the 1980s Paisley Underground, I put together this little nugget, which I call “Message from the Paisley Underground.”
