My name is Bruce Edward Smith. I’m a composer and musician, currently living in the Salt Lake City-Orem-Provo metro, Utah, USA. I started out in the Dayton, Ohio area music scene in the 1970s and 1980s as a drummer and became interested in electronic music along the way. My latest creative chapter began in 2012. when I started creating stock music for commercials, presentations, documentaries, podcasts, and other media. My work has been licensed on five continents, and used in video and other media productions, including for National Geographic and PBS in the USA and Canal D in Canada.
I’ve also released music for your moods, including:
- upbeat – single “Dream Catcher”
- mellow – ambient albums Circadia and Extasis, light jazz single “Morning Walk in the Sunshine,” space music single “Lights from Distant Stars.” My latest new age single, “Aloft,” released in October 2021.
- holiday – single “Snow Globe”
You can find my music at Apple, Spotify or your favorite streaming site by searching for “Thisbrucesmith.”
In 2019, I produced a podcast about the Dayton Triangles, one of the founding members of the National Football League, who won the first game played between two teams in the league (then called the American Professional Football Association). Production has wrapped, and links to those episodes are available here.
